I discovered this place in 2020, just a few days after moving to the canton of Vaud. I was walking along the lake when I noticed a line of stones reaching into the water. Something about it stopped me. The very next day, I came back with my camera and I’ve been returning ever since.
This small beach in Préverenges is only a short drive from home. The stone path feels simple, almost ordinary. But through the lens, it became a subject I wanted to explore again and again. I started photographing it from the exact same spot, always using the same composition.
What fascinates me is how much can change when nothing moves. The weather, the light, the atmosphere. A glowing sunset, heavy clouds before a storm, morning fog, icy winter light, even Saharan dust turning the sky golden. The lake becomes a mirror, the sky a canvas painted with light.
A quiet beach on the shore of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, where the lake meets the sky with perfect stillness.
Through this series, I wanted to capture these subtle shifts. A way to slow down, to pay attention, to see the familiar differently. Photography helps me hold on to those brief moments, where something quiet becomes something meaningful.
This is a series about patience, observation, and presence. It is a way of saying that beauty doesn’t always lie in the spectacular. Sometimes, it is right there, at the end of a small line of stones, under a changing sky.
