Aletsch and Eiger Glaciers
— In this series, in which all the photographs were taken at the Jungfraujoch, I take you on a journey to discover the details of the Aletsch and Eiger glaciers located in Switzerland. Each photo was taken from two panoramic platforms.
When I arrived, I was quickly drawn in by the beauty of the details of the glaciers. The landscapes are grandiose, but I wanted to immortalise these details as they change over the weeks. The ice caves move, the little waves on the surface of the snow change shape when the wind blows and the height of the snow decreases or increases with the seasons. It’s certain that when you return a month later, these details will be different.
That day, there was a play of chiaroscuro on the icy surface of the snow. This created abstract landscapes where you lose yourself in the immensity of nature. I wanted it to be impossible to imagine the grandeur of the elements when looking at these images. There are no human traces in these landscapes, which are both so beautiful and so inhospitable.
