This is a series of self-portrait landscape photography about dream and fantasy. Dressed in flowing red or turquoise, I appear by waterfalls, on remote beaches, or standing on a frozen lake. These images open a door into my own imagination, where reality blends with enchantment.

I have always loved Disney tales, long dresses, and the idea of wandering into places where magic happens. Yet I am also an introvert, more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it. Placing myself in the scene became a way to bridge those two worlds: the observer and the dreamer within.

Including a human figure in my self-portrait landscape photography has always been a way to give scale, to show the vastness or intimacy of a place. For this series, I chose to step into the frame myself, using the dress as a symbol of imagination and fantasy. It transforms the image into something more than a landscape, a scene where reality and dream coexist.

This series is both an exploration of scale and a journey into my imagination through self-portrait landscape photography. By placing myself in these landscapes, I not only reveal their vastness but also invite a touch of dream and fantasy. Between the reality of nature and the figure I embody, the images become spaces where the world is seen differently, both as it is and as it could be.

I also explored self-portrait landscape photography in the mystical Fanal Forest of Madeira, which became the curated series Whispers in the Fog.
